When I was around 12, we got our first computer at home (my parents weren't really early adopters). I was reading back then on this new CD+R thing, that would allow you to write your own CD's, but our HDD would suffice, 'cause it had only 512MB capacity. That is 0.5GB, or 0.0005TB. Today I added a 20TB* drive to our NAS. 39062x in 29 years, in almost the same enclosure. Connector changed from PATA to SATA.

* I always buy the biggest size available (unless price / TB is off the charts), hopefully this will hold for the next seven-eight years, it replaced a 6TB drive from 2016.
