Recently I attended a presentation on collection management tooling. Many old documents weren’t printed, but were hand written. Transkribus is a tool developed by the university of Innsbruck to help you manage these. It does automatic layout detection and helps you assist with transcribing old texts. When you’ve transcribed about a 100 documents you can even have them train a neural network to automatically transcribe the rest of the documents.
