@Bunkunin @vreer i don’t doubt that there are parties smelling opportunities in all the chaos that is #Ukraine. And given all the money that is pumped into the country we should be critical on how it is spent. But let’s not forget that Russia is the agressor here. Ukraine, even Yanukovych, wanted to sign the #EU association treaty, only retracting after Russia started blocking imports from Ukraine, with serious economic consequences. That triggered the 2014 protest. Russia has done similar things before with gas pricing. Ukraine is an independent nation and it’s decisions nor its territory should be controlled by an external state. Sure, some lure with (capitalist) opportunities, but russian control is of a way different order. Whilst you might think of EU/US influencing Ukrainian thought, this is nothing compared to the Russian economic manipulation and land grab. I am definitely opposed to war, but what Ukraine is doing is self defence, for which I am glad other countries help out. The main agressor here is Russia. Peace will follow when Russia leaves Ukraine and respects the will of its people without trying to sabotage it (and note that the EU has demands protecting minorities, including Russian speaking minorities)
