While looking for a Google Reader replacement, a full google reader replacement that is (no sync dependencies), I stumbled upon newsblur, an independent, web-based RSS reader. Not sure though whether I can live without the visual experience that Feedly offers, the reader (that is build on top of Google Reader) I currently use. It does feature a nice, and more transparent, filtering system that serves you the stuff that (probably) matters most to you first.
