Lot of great insights here:
- Stop thinking about music in the realm of art, but instead in the realm of health (which made me wonder, shouldn’t all art be seen in the realm of health, or at least mental-well-being (which sometimes may involve a more shock-doctrine like approaches ;) )?)
- On the importance of ‘surrendering’ and living in a parasympathetic mode (in contrast to maintaining continues control over the situation)
- Geniuses are just (slightly more) brilliant thieves.
- How simple, crude (typically analogue) instruments help to create better music (/art) (but how simply banning options can work as well); limitations lead to improved mastery and creativity
- The dance between technology & creativity (multi-track)
- How commercial music focusses on ‘finish’ (perfectness) vs alternative/niche pop music which is about putting the ideas in the world
In other words, great watch!
